Privacy Policy

Effective July 21, 2026. Threshly is currently operated by Bill Alewine as an individual developer, not yet as an incorporated company.

The short version

Threshly tracks the tickers you hold, the stop level you have set on each one, and the price history needed to compute that. It does not track how many shares you own or how much money you have invested, because it does not need to. Your data is never sold or shared with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address and name, handled through our authentication provider, Clerk. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only the email and name those providers share with us, never your Apple or Google password.

Position data. The ticker symbol, what you paid per share, your stop percentage, and an optional broker name, notes, and tags you enter yourself. We deliberately do not ask for or store share counts, account balances, or total cost basis. Threshly has no way to know how much money you have invested, only the price levels you care about.

Billing information. Subscription plan and payment status, handled through Stripe. Threshly never receives or stores your card number; Stripe handles that directly.

Technical information. Standard server logs, and two cookies: one to keep you signed in, and one short-lived cookie that caches your subscription status so each page load does not need to re-check it.

How we use it

To run the product: checking your positions against market prices after each close, moving your stops up behind new highs, and emailing you when a stop is hit or a re-entry signal fires. To bill your subscription. To generate the plain-language AI stop suggestions you see on a position (only the ticker and its recent price history are sent for this, never your name, email, or account details). To measure whether our advertising is working, as described below.

Who we share it with

Threshly is built on top of a small set of specialized services, each handling only the piece of the product it needs to:

  • Clerk for authentication and account management.
  • Stripe for billing and payment processing.
  • Massive for stock price data. Massive only ever sees a ticker symbol, never who holds it.
  • Anthropic for the AI stop suggestions, given only a ticker and its price history.
  • Finnhub and Alpha Vantage for earnings-date data, also ticker-level only.
  • Maileroo to deliver the account and alert emails Threshly sends you.
  • Railway, our hosting provider, which stores the database and runs the application.
  • Google. The site loads Google’s advertising tag, including on pages inside the signed-in app, but it only ever records one specific event: a new trial starting, right after sign-up. It is not used to track your activity beyond that.

None of these relationships involve selling your data or handing it to a third party for their own marketing. Each one exists to deliver a specific part of the product you are using.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and position data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, contact us at the address below and we will delete your personal data, keeping only what we are required to retain for financial or legal recordkeeping.

Your choices

You can adjust which email alerts you receive from the Settings page at any time. You can delete individual positions or entire portfolios yourself. You can decline non-essential cookies through your browser’s own settings, though the sign-in cookie is required for the product to work.

Children

Threshly is not directed at, and is not knowingly used by, anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or share ever changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page and change the effective date above.
